We need more players for the Asheville tournament - Sat., July 25th. Please respond via email if you plan on going (for those that already have responded, thank you!). We are currently at 11 players committed with some more on the fence. This is a great tournament so please make the effort. For those that have been in the past, please speak up and talk about the experience. Additionally, team meeting Wed., July 22nd at the Lacrosse Store, 7:30 pm. We need to discuss the future of the lacrosse club. I need help and we need officers to get involved (treasurer, field coordinator, social chairman, vice president/secretary, someone is more than welcome to become president and take my current position). I am not having fun doing all of this on my own. I have asked in the past and some have stepped up for short periods of time. A few have stuck around and helped when they can. To do it right, we need the positions filled. The club needs money and we desperately need a full time treasurer to set dues and collect funds. I hate to be harsh but failure to get a good turnout and get the positions filled will result in me stepping down from doing anything in the future. The choice is up to the lax players in the area (get involved please!).

We were bailed out by some Wando and CofC players. It is very depressing we can not field a team with our regular players. On a good note, we won 2, lost 1. Lost to Asheville 10-5, beat Greenville 9-5, beat Atlanta Inferno 9-5. Good times by all that went. Our next schedules games are the Asheville tournament. July 25th and 26th. Below is the email from Brian in Greenville. First game is at noon. It's about a 3 1/2 hour drive. We will meet at 7:30 at the Sheraton - off of Montague and 26 (4770 Goer Drive). I have my Yukon XL so I will be able to fit 6-7. I am working on cost but plan on bring $10-20. Cost per person will depend on how many we bring on the trip. I still need to get numbers for the trip. Thank you to everyone that made it to yesterday's games. We lost a close game to the Columbia team in OT. It was a very spirited game (a little too much) but close and competitive. We beat Greenville in our second game (not sure of score??). Best of all, the beers were cold and good at Dog and Duck after the game. Remember - the team needs $10 for anyone who came out. Go straight on the gravel road, and then turn right. The fields are right there!! Thank you to Peter Collins for his efforts on getting us a field. We have not played in Summerville so it is good to represent the sport of lacrosse in that community. He is spreading the word around to the high school and youth teams so they can come and watch.
